Whether someone is newly diagnosed or has had epilepsy for many years, and has a single question or is feeling overwhelmed, our education coordinator is here to help. Our office is friendly and informal. Because of this, clients feel at ease and feel free to ask questions. As a result, they learn more about epilepsy and how to manage their condition. Call or email us for a session or to speak with the education coordinator.
We provide free educational workshops and in-service training ranging in length from 30 minutes to 3.5 hours and more. We tailor the content to meet the needs of each particular audience. Workshops include video demonstrations and a variety of print material, including a comprehensive resource binder developed by the Center for Epilepsy and Seizure Education in British Columbia. We present to groups of any size.
Specialized workshops are available to the following groups, but this is not an exhaustive list:
- Classroom talks from kindergarten to grade 12
- Teachers, special education assistants and other school staff
- Nurses and health professionals
- Law enforcement
- First responders
- Social Workers
- Students training in any of the above fields
- Senior groups
